Imagem
Marvel Studios has unveiled a sleek new character banner for "The Avengers" on Yahoo! Movies showcasing Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, each within the familiar "A" emblem. Presumably the studio will soon release individual posters, including ones spotlighting Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Directed by Joss Whedon, "The Avengers" finds the S.H.I.E.L.D. director assembling a team to pull Earth back from the brink of disaster as an unexpected enemy emerges to threaten the planet. Opening May 4, 2012, "The Avengers" also stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig.

‘My name is Bill Mantlo. I want to go home.’

From National Underwriter Life & Health If you have the time, and emotional fortitude, I recommend you read this lengthy and heartbreaking profile of Bill Mantlo, the prolific 1970s and ’80s Marvel writer who now, 19 years after being struck by a car, lives in a Queens, New York, nursing home. While his struggles have been reported on in the past, I can’t recall them being chronicled in such crushing detail. Mantlo turned 60 on Wednesday, but in his gaunt and pale condition, is described as looking closer to 80. He lacks mobility and labors to speak; he has a history of violent outbursts. Marvel’s “fill-in king,” who co-created Cloak & Dagger and penned titles like ROM, Micronauts and The Incredible Hulk, hasn’t been able to write since 1995. The last personal entry in his journal, dated Feb. 14, 1995, begins, “My name is Bill Mantlo. I want to go home.” The article in National Underwriter Life & Health magazine, titled simply “Tragic Tale,” recounts his career at Marvel — ...

Marc Silvestri Hospitalized But On The Mend

The Hulk and his artist: each in a new state of being. Today, the comics web opened its day with questions over the status of Marvel Comics "Incredible Hulk" series after the credits for next week's second issue revealed 11 artists contributing to the final product. The series main artist – comics mainstay and Image co-founder Marc Silvestri – was likely unaware of the discussion of his latest book for one very simple reason: he was in the hospital. Silvestri's wife Briget has been Tweeting out news of the artist's condition since Tuesday of this week when he checked into a local Emergency Room after his ankle swelled up to a distressing degree. Mrs. Silvestri explained to fellow Top Cow creator Rob Marz that "He's more tired then anything, was up drawing all nite & hasn't slept in over 36 hrs." Silvestri broke the same ankle six years ago, and it appears that some kind of infection had taken root, however after two days of antibiotics and r...

Os Anti-Hulks.

Imagem
